Varejao Sits vs. Pacers With Rib Injury

Anderson Varejao missed Friday night's game against the Indiana Pacers with a rib injury:

Varejao is the prototypical role player. He rebounds, defends and plays with an unrelenting amount of energy. Moreover, the fan favorite has spent his entire 11-year NBA career in Cleveland, showing devotion to the team through the recent rebuilding process, via Haynes:

"

I've been in Cleveland a long time. I love the city. I wanted to go through the rebuilding process with Cleveland. I wasn't going to demand to be traded. My heart wasn't telling me that. I always felt Cleveland was the place that I needed to be.

"

The only problem: He has trouble staying on the court. Varejao played in 65 games last season, but he failed to play in more than 31 in each of the previous three campaigns before that.

Fortunately for the Cavs, Varejao was only forced to sit one game for this particular injury.
