A bad day for the Washington Redskins took another turn for the worst when left tackle Trent Williams left Thursday night's game against the New York Giants with a right knee injury.
The team reported his status as questionable:
Just a few minutes later the Redskins provided an update:
The Redskins offensive line has paved the way for a ninth-ranked run offense and a third-ranked pass offense through three games, and Williams has been among the biggest contributors. Protecting the blind side of Kirk Cousins, the 26-year-old has been an immovable presence up front for Washington.
He's also been the definition of durable over the past few seasons, starting all 16 games in both 2012 and 2013.
Jay Gruden and Co. will certainly hope for their star left tackle to make a quick return, as rookie third-round pick Morgan Moses is next up on the depth chart.
