NBA 2K15: New MyCareer Trailer Featuring Chris Smoove, New Voice, Story and More

If you're familiar with the NBA 2K online community—especially the rabid fans on YouTube—you've undoubtedly heard of Chris Smoove. He's the YouTube personality whose NBA 2K videos helped to push his popularity to insane heights.

As of the date of this article, Smoove has just under 1.9 million subscribers on YouTube. It's no wonder 2K Sports chose to bring him into their studios in Novato, California, to be scanned with the new technology that again puts the series a step ahead of the sports video game world.

In case you missed it, NBA 2K announced the new face-scanning technology that will allow gamers to put themselves in the game like never before. With the use of the PlayStation 4 or Kinect camera, gamers can scan their faces and guide themselves through a MyCareer or MyGM journey.

With Smoove's MyCareer character being so popular in the NBA 2K community, he was honored with the privilege of having his likeness be the first shown in the mode's opening cinema scene.

As you can tell from the video, there's a new storyline for your character this year. 

Instead of playing through the Rookie Showcase for draft position, your MyPlayer goes undrafted and has to work his way onto a team and up the ladder to stardom.

You also may have noticed and heard Smoove mention that there is now a new voice available for gamers to select.

In previous years, gamers were made to stick with the same generic voice, but this new option does add a little more customization. This only represents a tidbit of information regarding the mode and MyPlayer.
