Devin Hester Breaks Deion Sanders' Career Record for Return Touchdowns
Devin Hester is now bigger than "Prime Time."
In the second quarter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night, the Atlanta Falcons wide receiver/return man took a Michael Koenen punt 62 yards to the house. That was his 20th special teams touchdown, which puts him ahead of Deion Sanders on the all-time list, per NFL on ESPN:

Perhaps knowing that he was making history, Hester paid homage to Neon Deion as he pranced into the end zone.
After the game, NFL on ESPN had Sanders returning the favor:
ESPN's SportsCenter feed provided a breakdown of every Hester return:
Veteran NFL reporter Brian McIntyre notes that Hester thinks he's lost a step:
Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman is unlikely to be the only person calling Hester the greatest returner ever:
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller went so far as to say that Hester should be headed for Canton, Ohio, when his career is over:
Hester's having one heck of a night. A couple of drives before that return TD, he ran an end-around 20 yards to paydirt. He nearly hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass on that same drive, but Matt Ryan's throw was just out of reach.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Hester's the first player since 2009 to record a return touchdown and rushing touchdown in the same game:
"Devin Hester is the first player since Reggie Bush in 2009 to have a rush TD and punt return TD in the same game.

Into the second quarter, the 31-year-old was both outscoring and outgaining the entire Buccaneers offense, per CBSSports.com's Will Brinson:
Fox Sports' Kevin Burkhardt believes the Falcons are already recouping much of the financial investment they made in Hester over the offseason:
Hester's long been one of the most electrifying players in the league. He doesn't get a ton of touches on a weekly basis, but when he does, you get up out of your seat just a little bit in anticipation of something special.
Now that he's overtaken Sanders and cemented himself as arguably the best return man in NFL history, Hester could very well be destined for the Hall of Fame.
He's got a few more years left in the tank, too, so who knows how many more return TDs he'll add to his resume by the time he hangs up his cleats?
