2014 Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings: Week 2
With an exciting opening week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2014 Week 2 fantasy football running back rankings.
1. LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles
Shady finished with 2,146 total yards and 11 touchdowns last year and recorded 115 total yards in Week 1. He should keep rolling against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts allowed 102 yards and a score on the ground to Denver last week.
2. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Adrian Peterson ran for 75 yards in the opener, but also added 18 receiving yards. All Day should run well against the New England Patriots. The Pats were destroyed in Week 1 by Knowshon Moreno and Lamar Miller to the tune of 191 rushing yards.
3. Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
Beast Mode is alive and well after Lynch’s 110 yards and two scores in the NFL kickoff against the Green Bay Packers. Next up is the San Diego Chargers. The Bolts gave up 109 rushing yards to the Arizona Cardinals last week.
4. Arian Foster, Houston Texans
Foster had 120 total yards in Week 1 against the Washington Redskins. He should continue to rebound against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders gave up 212 yards at 6.0 yards per carry to the New York Jets last week.
5. Matt Forte, Chicago Bears
Forte did not disappoint in the opener with 169 total yards. Facing the San Francisco 49ers should not slow him down. The Niners gave up 127 rushing yards to the Dallas Cowboys.
6. Montee Ball, Denver Broncos
Ball had 83 total yards and a touchdown in his first crack at lead back. Ball should continue to produce this week against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs gave up 162 rushing yards last week to the Tennessee Titans. Ball averaged 81 total yards and a touchdown in two meetings with the Chiefs last year on just 12.5 touches per game.
7. DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys
Murray ran for 118 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers last week. He also caught three passes for 25 yards. He’s a quality RB1 option against the Tennessee Titans
8. Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs
Charles was a bust in Week 1 with just 34 total yards. Look for a more productive day against the Denver Broncos. He averaged 96 total yards in two games against them last year.
9. Le’veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Bell had 197 total yards and a touchdown last week against the Cleveland Browns. He’ll look to keep rolling against the Baltimore Ravens. He had 235 total yards and a touchdown against them last year in two games.
10. Giovani Bernard, Cincinnati Bengals
Bernard had 110 total yards last week against the Ravens. Even if the game against the Atlanta Falcons turns into a shootout, Bernard is active in the passing game. The Falcons gave up 139 yards and three touchdowns on the ground to the New Orleans Saints last week.
11. Shane Vereen, New England Patriots
Vereen had 71 total yards and a touchdown last week against the Miami Dolphins. Look for him to be a major focal point of the offense against the Vikings with both his hands and feet.
12. Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers
Gore shared the load with Carlos Hyde last week but still managed 66 yards. Look for Gore to do the early damage against the Chicago Bears. The Bears allowed 193 rushing yards last week.
13. Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins
Morris had 91 yards last week against the Houston Texans. This week he plays the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags gave up 145 yards last week.
14. Chris Johnson, New York Jets
Chris Johnson had 91 total yards and a touchdown last week. He faces a Green Bay Packers defense that was shredded for 207 rushing yards last week.
15. Knowshon Moreno, Miami Dolphins
Moreno ran for 134 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots. He faces the Buffalo Bills this week. They gave up 86 rushing yards last week at 4.8 yards per carry.
16. Eddie Lacy, Green Bay Packers
Lacy will have to get cleared from last week’s concussion, but if he does, he should be a solid RB2 option against the Jets.
17. Andre Ellington, Arizona Cardinals
Ellington had 80 total yards despite the injury scare. He’s a solid RB2 option against the New York Giants. The G-Men allowed a pair of rushing touchdowns last week.
18. C.J. Spiller, Buffalo Bills
Spiller had 64 total yards and a touchdown last week against the Bears. He keeps losing production to Fred Jackson, but has big-play potential against the Miami Dolphins.
19. Zac Stacy, St. Louis Rams
Stacy had 51 total yards against the Vikings last week. He should be more productive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs gave up 113 rushing yards last week.
20. Rashard Jennings, New York Giants
Jennings had 96 total yards and a touchdown in his Giants debut. He has a tough draw against the Cardinals but does enough in the passing game to be a solid RB2.
