As a result, fans are left to watch Serena Williams alongside a crew of underdogs in the two finals matches.
The good news is we now know anything can happen, so make sure you do not miss a second of the action as the tournament comes to a close.

Throughout her career, it has become easy to expect Williams to get to the final of almost any Grand Slam.
However, this has surprisingly not been the case lately, as the No. 1 player in the world was eliminated before the quarterfinals in each of the first three Grand Slams in 2014.
As we have seen, though, there is no one better when Williams is playing at her best. This is bad news for Caroline Wozniacki because the top seed has been dominant at the U.S. Open.
Not only has Williams won every set in her six wins so far, but no opponent has gotten more than three wins in any one set.
Even when she was off to a slow start in the quarterfinals, she turned things around in a hurry, as noted by Ben Rothenberg of The New York Times:
Ralph D. Russo of The Associated Press notes how dominant the player has been:
That being said, Williams is yet to face a top-10 opponent in this tournament. Meanwhile, Wozniacki has been almost as impressive against much tougher competition.
The 24-year-old player earned an impressive three-set win over No. 5 Maria Sharapova and then embarrassed No. 13 Sara Errani. While the former No. 1 player in the world has struggled in the past few years, the last two months have been as good as ever.

Williams is ready for a tough battle against her close friend, saying, "I definitely expect another close match. She really knows my game well and knows how to play. She's so consistent. I think that's one of the things that makes her really tough," via Piers Newbery of BBC Sport.
Wozniacki is one of the few players capable of handling Williams' power on the serve, and she should be able to get a few breaks against the American.
Adding in her confidence from the recent success, and this could become yet another upset in this crazy tournament.
Prediction: Wozniacki wins 4-6, 7-6(1), 6-3

We have become so used to seeing the biggest stars in the sport that we do not know what happens when they lose early.
ESPN Stats & Info notes how long it has been since we saw a final without one of the top three players:
Kei Nishikori has battled throughout the tournament, beating Milos Raonic and Stan Wawrinka in five sets before topping Djokovic in four.
Nishikori was aggressive in each of these battles against top-five seeds, and he showed why he is considered one of the best young players in the world.
Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated discussed his view of the Japanese star:
"Nishikori has the goods to win majors. That might not come on Monday, but his shot-making talent and movement are impossible to ignore. Plenty inside the game have predicted a breakthrough, and here it is now that he’s healthy. He was sensational against Djokovic, whether hitting sharp-angle winners or out-grinding one of the best grinders in history. What an effort.
"
Of course, it is important not to overlook what Marin Cilic has done in this tournament. He has now beaten Roger Federer and Tomas Berdych in back-to-back matches without losing a single set. That is tough to do.
Cilic has been extremely impressive with his serve, getting at least 10 aces in each of his last five matches. This should continue as he can always put the ball where no one can get it.
However, Nishikori has been better with his all-around game and is ready to take the next step in his career. He should be able to survive a tough battle with Cilic and come through with his first Grand Slam title.
Prediction: Nishikori wins 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3
