'Madden 15' GIFerator Feature Takes Fan Trash Talk to Next Level
Trash talk among friends and fans of rival NFL teams just got the ultimate enabler.
The Madden GIFerator feature allows fans to send animated GIFs from Madden 15 action to taunt their friends during real NFL games.
If you're a Minnesota Vikings fans and Adrian Peterson just broke off a long touchdown run against the Green Bay Packers, you can taunt any Packers fan that you have social media access to with a GIF featuring an animated version of AP.

It won't just be the virtual AP dominating the Pack; the GIF also doubles as a meme because the creator can add custom text to make it sting all the more. Does that sound like a tool you just have to have come Sunday? Well, it was just released on Thursday.
During every NFL game of the season, the Madden GIFerator creates a live stream of GIFs showing minute-by-minute highlights of key NFL games. It's all triggered by the action on the real NFL field.
If Aaron Rodgers completes a long touchdown pass, the system will create a highlight that users can then turn into a GIF. By fusing live NFL data with Madden 15 game footage, the GIFerator generates real-time GIF highlights.
It's up to users to come up with the type of quick-hitting and witty one-liners that chap the hide of the recipient.
Fans can go to GIFERATOR.easports.com to thumb through user-generated GIFs, or they can customize their own from a template. Options to select the team, player, background and headline are all available.
Once those details are established, users will then have the option to share their GIF on social media with fellow fans or directly to fans of rival teams. The app will be available throughout the entire season.
The engine for the app is built through a partnership between EA, its agency of record Heat and Google. This brings a whole new element to the art of trash-talking. Here's hoping all the trash-talkers can take it as well as they can dish it out.
