Kevin Durant Sits on Court Facing Away as Westbrook Attempts Crucial Free Throws
Russell Westbrook drew a foul on Chris Paul while shooting a three in the final seconds of Tuesday's Game 5 matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Thunder trailed, 104-102, with six seconds left, and Westbrook needed to make all three free throws to give Oklahoma City the lead. Kevin Durant couldn't watch.
Westbrook hit all of them.
UPDATE: Thursday, May 15, 5:33 p.m. ET
Durant told Darnell Mayberry of NewsOK.com why he doesn't watch his teammate's late-game free throws:
"Q: What can you tell us about not being able to watch the free throws that Russ took at the end?
A: I’ve been doing that all year, especially late in the games. It’s not like I don’t trust my guys to make the free throws. I think I’m just bad luck. Every time I go to a Redskins game we lose. Every time I watch a Texas game we lose. Every time I watch something it’s not going the way I want it to go. So I have to turn my head. Will you do it again? If it comes to it, will you turn away again?
"
Yeah. I mean, it worked.

Durant had this to say about the game's result (per USA Today):
"I have never seen a game like this with us. It just shows that we just keep going. You can never keep us down, and we are going to fight until the end.
