Nobody knows how long Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic will be out, but it definitely doesn't look good.
Timberwolves reporter Mark Remme tweets that Pekovic will miss Sunday night's tilt against the Sacramento Kings:
While that may not be cause for concern, this statement from head coach Rick Adelman should be, via Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press:
The fourth-year center has started all 51 games that he has appeared in this season. Following a breakout in 2012-13, Pekovic has improved even more this year.
He's averaging 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game on 53.5 percent shooting. He is one of the key pieces on a Timberwolves team that enters play on Sunday with a record of 32-32. Without him, the T'Wolves could struggle.
If Pekovic misses an extended period of time, look for Kevin Love to slide over to the center position.
