Nobody knows how long Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic will be out, but it definitely doesn't look good.ย ย ย ย ย
Timberwolves reporter Mark Remme tweets that Pekovic will miss Sunday night's tilt against the Sacramento Kings:
While that may not be cause for concern, this statement from head coach Rick Adelman should be, via Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press:
The fourth-year center has started all 51 games that he has appeared in this season. Following a breakout in 2012-13, Pekovic has improved even more this year.
He's averaging 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game on 53.5 percent shooting. He is one of the key pieces on a Timberwolves team that enters play on Sunday with a record of 32-32. Without him, the T'Wolves could struggle.ย ย
If Pekovic misses an extended period of time, look for Kevin Love to slide over to the center position.
