Tony Parker Proudly Announces Pregnancy; Fiancee Axelle Francine Expecting Boy
Tony Parker is having a boy.
To be more exact, his fiancee, French reporter Axelle Francine, is having the baby boy, but it was the Spurs star guard who took to Twitter to announce the good news (h/t US Magazine).
As US Magazine's Nicole Eggenberger reminded, Parker and Francine have been dating since 2011, and this will be the first child for the 31-year-old basketball star.
Back in June, Parker was far less public with some other good news regarding his personal life. In a Twitter answer to a fan's question, Parker offered the following about how he enjoys his downtime.
At least when it comes to his future baby boy, we get a firm confirmation of the joyous news and can congratulate the happy couple with confidence.
The Daily Mail reports this will also be the first child for the 31-year-old journalist who decided to enjoy the Halloween festivities as Tinkerbell alongside her future husband, who played the role of Captain Hook, via Parker's Facebook.
Parker is entering his 13th season and is locked in on bringing a championship back to San Antonio. Recently he offered to the Miami Herald, "I'm so excited to start with the Spurs and try to win a championship." The star continued, "I get another opportunity to get Timmy out with a championship. I'm ready to go."
Of course, any mere mention of kids and future nuptials drums up the obligatory mention of Parker's past. The Spurs star was married to actress Eva Longoria until the two split in 2010 after a myriad of rumors Parker was unfaithful.
A June E! Online report reminds fans of the tumultuous time for Longoria and Parker, and did well to quote pal Mario Lopez, who offered Longoria was going through quite the rough patch at the time.
"Eva wants everyone to know, she's devastated by the rumors of Tony's infidelity. She loved her husband and is heartbroken about their split." Lopez then continued on an episode of Extra, "But she's strong."
Parker will now give lifelong commitment another go, and this time will do it with the added joy that comes with raising a child.
With a rocky romantic past behind him, the French athlete looks forward to an amazing and wonderful future. This has certainly been a great year for Parker.
