Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Then, the Monday Night Football finale will feature two unbeaten teams in the Bayou. Two will enter, only one will leave with a perfect record heading into Week 5.
Here’s a guide on where and when to catch those exciting matchups and every other game on this week’s schedule. There are predictions for each winner, too.
Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) at Denver Broncos (3-0), Sunday afternoon
Can the Eagles’ limping defense slow down the Manning-led juggernaut that has become the Broncos offense? Dating back to last year, the Broncos have won 14 straight and are vying for a franchise-record 15th consecutive win in Week 4.
Bottom line, the Broncos offense is performing among the best to ever play the game after three weeks of football. Manning’s 12 touchdowns are an NFL record, and the team’s 127 points through three games hasn’t been accomplished since the 1967 Dallas Cowboys.
Philadelphia’s defense has been horrendous, allowing 323 yards per game through the air. Can they slow down Manning and Co. or will it be another high-scoring effort through the mile-high air of Sports Authority Field?
New England Patriots (3-0) at Atlanta Falcons (1-2), Sunday Night Football
This game should have been an offensive shootout in the making. But with the way the Falcons and Pats are playing, it’ll surely be lower scoring and come down to either Matt Ryan or Tom Brady with a chance to win on one final drive.
Atlanta is dealing with a lot of injuries. Offseason acquisition Steven Jackson is expected to miss another game, leaving the rushing duties up to Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling.
But the Pats have their own issues in that regard. Shane Vereen will miss another game, and tight end Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola’s statuses are still up in the air. Knowing Bill Belichick, we’ll be holding our breath until game time to find out.
Miami Dolphins (3-0) at New Orleans Saints (3-0), Monday Night Football
Who would have guessed that the Miami Dolphins would be 3-0 after starting the season on the road against Cleveland and Indianapolis and then hosting Atlanta in Week 3?
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been the catalyst, evading pressure and making accurate throws to fuel a surprisingly effective Dolphins offense. Their own potent pass rush doesn’t hurt, either. The Fins have recorded nine sacks in three games and are imposing on their defensive front seven.
But if there’s anyone who can handle the pressure better than Tannehill, it’s Drew Brees. With head coach Sean Payton back on his team, Brees and the Saints look much improved after a disappointing 2012 season. Their offense hasn’t been as dominant as in past seasons, but their defense isn’t setting any records for incompetence this year, so it works out.
