NBA 2K14: LeBron James Featured in Official Trailer For New Game
Things just got serious. While information about new modes, the cover athlete and gameplay enhancements have been released, the release of the official trailer for NBA 2K14 cranks the hype meter up to the next level.
The video is only 1:33 long, but it features a few of the new animations, blocked dunks and several free agents and traded players with their new teams. Check it out:
The footage in the trailer is for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. NBA 2K14 will be available for the Xbox One and PS4 as well, but official trailers haven't been released for next-gen consoles as of yet.
Appropriately, the track playing during the video is "Hate Me Now" by Nas. It is an ode to the cover athlete, LeBron James. Along with all the other accolades James has garnered over the past two years, he also earned a spot as the cover athlete for an NBA 2K game for the first time.
The honor is all part of the evolution of King James.
LeBron has gone from the NBA's most hated player to a two-time world champion and the unquestionable best player on the planet.
His success has made hating him hard, even for the most baseless and basketball-ignorant critic. Even those who still harbor disdain should respect him. No athlete in the world today symbolizes success more than James.
NBA 2K14 releases on Oct. 1, and this trailer is sure to increase the intrigue surrounding the game. Along with new gameplay enhancements and animations, the return of Crew mode also bolsters what is shaping up to be a strong set of options.
For the first time in the series, gamers will also have the ability to play with 15 Euroleague teams as well. Though many gamers are anxiously awaiting the release of NBA 2K14 on the next-generation consoles, the current-gen trailer implies there could be enough included in this version to entertain gamers.
