Cavaliers' Moondog Mascot Brings the Party to Wild Wedding Reception
Moondog lives for wedding season.
The Basketball Jones (h/t Yahoo! Sports) reports the Cleveland Cavaliers' beloved dog mascot featured heavily in the nuptial celebration of two people who love their basketball and their strangers who wear dog costumes, as Moondog was hired to liven up their festivities.
Was Anderson Varejao actually busy?
There isn't a great deal of information surrounding the mascot cameo, merely that the reception was to celebrate the wedding of Ashlee and Ben—obviously huge Cavaliers fans.
We really don't need an explanation, because this is all about soaking up all the wonderful images featured on Moondog's Flickr showing him doing his best Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn impression as he crashes this wedding (h/t @Ananth_Pandian).
Fifty years from now, these two beaming newlyweds can look back and remember the time they invited a giant dog to their party. Here is Moondog with the happy couple:
Moondog understands there are two things more important than the actual people getting married: the food and the open bar.
Seeing as how this pooch was on duty, he was doubling up on cake. Good boy, Moondog. Good boy.
It seems you found the bridesmaids you ol' dog, you.
In the end, it certainly seemed like Moondog went above and beyond to make this party a special one. All snark aside, the person manning the costume had to be "on" for the entirety of this reception.
No matter how much you love weddings, everyone needs to hit the bar and take a breather for a second. This party hero was tasked with donning a dog costume and dancing to whatever Rihanna song you crazy kids are listening to nowadays.
Thankfully, that smiling mascot was ready and able, because it's just not a party unless Moondog is there.
