2013 Fantasy Football Rankings: WRs Hakeem Nicks & Victor Cruz Still in Top 15
One of the bigger stories of the offseason is the potential holdouts of the Giants' star receivers Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. Both are looking for new contracts and the Giants can only use the franchise tag on one of them next offseason, should they choose to go in that direction.
As mandatory OTAs rolled around in June, Nicks returned to practice and told the press the reason for his absence in May wasn’t related to his contract situation. If that’s true, it’s a huge relief for dynasty owners (I happen to be one of them) who were a little concerned he would come into another season not in peak condition.

Offseason Moves for Every Team 👉
As for Cruz, we didn’t see him during the teams OTAs but he did sign his RFA tender in June so hopefully we will see him in camp sometimes in July or at the latest by the third week of August.
It will be a wait-and-see approach on both receivers until they officially report to training camp, but assuming they get back before the third pre-season game, I have little doubts they both produce at low-end WR1 or WR2 value. New York will likely try to run the football a little more this season, but it remains to be seen if David Wilson can hold up to the pounding he will take as a starting tailback for a full 16-game schedule.
Andre Brown proved he could get the job done when Ahmad Bradshaw was out with foot and neck injuries. He also showed us he can’t stay healthy, as has been the problem with Brown over his short career.
Then you have a defense that struggled last season. The loss of Osi Umenyiora to the Atlanta Falcons and Jason Pierre-Paul rehabbing from back surgery won’t help their cause to play shutdown defense.
Add it up and it sure looks like the game scripts will tilt towards the team leaning on Eli Manning and his Pro Bowl receivers to help the team come from behind and win games in an offense-friendly NFC Eastern Division.
If you can land one of these two receivers as your WR2, consider that terrific value in any fantasy scoring format.
