Amar'e Stoudmire and Alexis Welch Wedding: Attendees, Photos and Details

Amar’e Stoudemire, the New York Knicks superstar forward, was married to Alexis Welch on Saturday, June 29 in Miami, Fla.

The couple, who have four children together, officially tied the knot on Dec. 12, 2012—in the midst of the NBA season—but wanted to have a big reception to celebrate this summer, as per Brittany Galla and Jennifer Peros of US Weekly.

Stoudemire tweeted out a photo of the ring he gave to Alexis a few months ago, noting that the date has extra special and spiritual meaning to the pair now:

June 29 will also be special, as the bride and groom hosted the reception at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens on the date. Guests stayed at the nearby Fontainebleau hotel, as per Galla and Peros.

Many of STAT’s teammates were in attendance, including superstar swingman Carmelo Anthony and his famous wife, La La. Tyson Chandler, the star center for the Knickerbockers, was also in attendance.

J.R. Smith posted a photo on his Instagram account that showed Stoudemire—donning a red suit—Iman Shumpert and ‘Melo looking dapper:

NBA players weren’t the only ones in attendance, as Timbaland, Swizz Beats, Alicia Keys, Sarah Blakely, Jessie Itzlers and others were down in Miami for the celebration.

Alexis also used her Instagram account to show the world how much fun her and her bridesmaids were having at the event:

The wedding seemed to be a hit and finally allowed the player’s circle of friends to celebrate with him after the private ceremony was held in their New York City apartment over six months ago.
