Ryan RudnanskyJun 8, 2018

The 2013 NBA draft is just a few days away, and you know what that means.

No, I'm not talking about more Dwight Howard rumors (although, those will surely continue to fly around at warp speed).

I'm talking about teams that may be willing to trade first-round picks, including two squads selecting within the top-10.

Teams That Could Trade First-Round Picks

Washington Wizards

According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, the Wizards and Chicago Bulls have had "exploratory discussions" about swapping the Wizards' No. 3 overall pick along with Emeka Okafor for Luol Deng.

Adding Deng would give the Wizards a proven veteran on a young team, potentially aiding in the young players' development. It would also give the Wizards an excellent defender on a team that already ranked fifth last season in opponents' field-goal percentage.

On the other hand, considering the fact that the Wizards went 29-53 last season, adding a 28-year-old may not be the best course of action. Washington has an opportunity to add a young prospect at No. 3 overall who could develop into a star as the team grows together.

Detroit Pistons

Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News tweeted this on Monday:

While the Pistons may be able to add a much-needed outside shooter like C.J. McCollum or Kentavious Caldwell-Pope at No. 8 overall, if they aren't ecstatic about either prospect, they certainly should not just pick someone by default.

The Pistons could trade for a veteran with the pick, or they could trade for a future first-rounder. This draft isn't that deep, so perhaps Detroit would be better off waiting until 2014, when they could cash in on what is expected to be a strong draft class.

Detroit has a variety of needs that certainly won't be addressed with one pick.

Denver Nuggets

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Denver Nuggets may be willing to trade the No. 27 overall pick for a future first-rounder or a pick in the 30s this year:

The Golden State Warriors could be a potential trade partner. According to Marcus Thompson II of the Oakland Tribune, Warriors general manager Bob Myers has said he would be interested in acquiring a draft pick this year, as Golden State currently has zero draft picks for 2013.

The Nuggets could use an outside shooter, but top shooters like Cal's Allen Crabbe or North Carolina's Reggie Bullock may not be available in the late 20s.

As for the Warriors, backup guard Jarrett Jack is an unrestricted free agent this summer and big man Carl Landry has a player option, so both could be gone by next season. Perhaps finding a replacement for either of those two players could be an option at No. 27.
