Lakers Fans Absolutely Love Lakers' Chances in NBA Finals on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Trust me, I really wish I could see the world through the eyes of these Los Angeles "sports fans" who have high hopes for the Lakers in the NBA Finals. 

Instead, I have to face the harsh reality that the Purple and Gold were sent packing long ago, forced to deal with an offseason that will no doubt result in great upheaval to the current roster. 

Life is so much better for these few locals who are more clueless than Alicia Silverstone. 

Big Lead spotted the latest "Lie Witness News" segment from Jimmy Kimmel Live, and it's one that will most definitely interest sports fans. 

A fake reporter steps outside the studio to ask random bystanders about the Lakers and their chances in the NBA Finals. Of course, we quickly find out that none of them are big basketball fans, because they don't let the fact the Lakers were eliminated get in the way of their championship hopes. 

We said it before when a similar video surfaced of fans waxing wise over NFL draft prospects who never existed, and we will say it again: Don't be afraid of saying you don't know something. 

It's completely fine if you aren't a sports fan or if you are caught off guard with a question you don't have an answer to. Hell, ask me to break down the specifics of a cricket match and I will give you a very honest and detailed answer: I have no clue. 

Fortunately, these few Angelenos give us some very entertaining answers—especially the last gentleman, who notes that a team may get eliminated, but it can totally bounce back. 

I sit here filled with jealousy. These lucky few are bopping around L.A. with the kind of pep in their step that only people who believe their home team can win a title would have. 

I wish I could trade places, because the truth has been pretty depressing.
