Projecting School Andrew Wiggins Will Sign with on Tuesday
Andrew Wiggins is reportedly set to make his much-anticipated college decision on Tuesday, putting a merciful end to a long and drawn-out recruiting saga.
According to Rob Fulford, Wiggins’ head basketball coach at Huntington Prep High School, the superstar prospect is going to announce his decision at a small gathering at approximately 12:15 p.m. ET on May 14:

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Kansas, Kentucky, Florida State and North Carolina supporters are all still hoping that the top-ranked star will choose their favorite program. At this point, it seems anything is likely—although one team has separated itself a bit from the rest of the pack.
Let’s take a look at the chances each of these prestigious universities has to score a letter of intent from Wiggins on Tuesday.
Florida State
If you haven’t been following this recruiting drama closely, the only reason FSU is on this list is because both of Wiggins’ parents attended the college.
Aside from that, the lack of tradition and poor roster don’t exactly make Tallahassee the most exciting or intriguing destination for the young swingman.
However, Wiggins could become a Seminoles legend, completely overhauling the basketball program in the process. He could single-handedly lead this team to greatness in his freshman year, causing other top recruits to consider coach Leonard Hamilton’s school during recruitment.
It’s doubtful this happens, but the option is on the table.
North Carolina
Wiggins is a great fit at UNC, as he fills a major need and would push a team that exited the NCAA tournament in the round of 32 over the edge in 2014.
With James McAdoo and P.J. Hairston returning for the upcoming season, the Tar Heels have a veteran presence and plenty to improve upon after an up-and-down campaign this past year. There will be plenty of people talking title in Chapel Hill if Wiggins decides to attend college for a token year there.
It will be interesting to see if coach Roy Williams’ small-ball, fast-paced style of play either intrigues or hurts his school’s shot at landing the Canadian native.
Kansas
There’s a chance that the Jayhawks go through a painful rebuilding year in 2013-14, but Wiggins would enable this program to skip right over that.
Since Kansas is losing Ben McLemore, Jeff Withey and more to the upcoming draft and eligibility, they direly need a superstar to expedite the rebuilding process.
Wiggins’ presence would immediately move Kansas up a peg or five, as the Huntington Prep product would be able to become the unquestioned centerpiece of the roster and star on a nightly basis—just as he would at FSU—with much better teammates surrounding him.
Don’t count the Jayhawks out of this. Rock Chalk nation certainly has a real opportunity to be cheering for the small forward next season.
Kentucky
After putting together arguably the best recruiting class in collegiate history—without Wiggins—coach John Calipari is just waiting to find out the status of his crown jewel.
Because UK had a hangover campaign after its 2012 national title and wound up losing in the NIT, coach Cal decided to go out and retool.
While most coaches would rest on their laurels after bringing in six All-Americans and five players ranked inside the 247Sports top 10, the recruiting genius is still hoping to add Wiggins to his haul.
It may not be hard to sell him on the title chances of the Wildcats, as they are an absolute powerhouse and should be an even-money (or bigger) favorite to run through March Madness next year.
If Wiggins is looking to win, this is where he will go. Considering he’s waited so long and weighed his decision so heavily, it seems that the young man truly cares about tradition, prestige and the chance to leave behind a legacy.
Kentucky offers all of those and will be the school that Wiggins chooses on Tuesday.
