Milwaukee Bucks Mascot Scares the Heck out of Dwight Howard

Dan CarsonJun 1, 2018

Got 'em!

The Milwaukee Bucks' inflatable mascot, Bango, waited in silent patience for the Los Angeles Lakers to arrive at BMO Harris Bradley Center on Thursday night.

Standing like a statue in the hallway, the giant puffy creature bided his time until Dwight Howard passed close by and WHOA—deer attack!

The mascot snapped its big bobbling head forward and scared the ever-loving grease out of Howard, who yelled and spun away from his inflatable attacker. Always one to appreciate a good joke, Howard took the prank in stride.

“Wooh...that was a good one,” Howard said, smiling as he walked away from the scene.

Also worthy of note in all of this is Carlos Maples, the Lakers equipment manager, who spun around looking for the source of the noise as if he were under attack.

If anyone is going to have a good sense of humor about getting pranked like this, it’s obviously Howard, whose off-court antics reach comedian-like proportions when he’s on a roll.

The joke didn’t phase Dwight, who had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds for the game. However, the Lakers would go on to lose to the Bucks 113-103 after a career-high night from Bucks forward Larry Sanders (21 points).

Laker Steve Nash left the game in the third quarter with hip spasms, and Kobe Bryant limped off the floor with the support of a crutch after the game due to an inflamed bone spur.
