It may not be one of the premier tournaments of the college basketball season, but the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic still promises to provide some excellent basketball this weekend.
With eight teams battling over two days of action, the tournament offers no shortage of compelling matchups and intriguing storylines. Can Virginia Tech represent the ACC and sweep its games? Will Bradley continue its strong start to the season with two wins?

Player to Watch: Erick Green, G, Virginia Tech
The senior guard has been phenomenal this year, averaging 24.8 points, 4.4 points and 4.9 assists per game. To put that in perspective, he's averaging 30 percent of Virginia Tech's points per game.
Yeah, I'd say he's a player to watch.
The Hokies come into this game having lost two of three after starting the season 7-0, so Green will need to be at his best to keep Virginia Tech in the game against a tough Bradley side. Given his play early in the year, I don't doubt he'll do just that.
Predictions
Virginia Tech will win both of its games, beating Colorado State in the second.
Bradley will defeat Portland. Mississippi Valley State will continue its seven-game losing streak with two more losses.
Cal State Bakersfield will win both of its games, including a tight win over Georgia Southern in the second contest.
Only fans of these schools and sports hipsters who love somewhat obscure basketball tournaments will watch these games.
