Amir Johnson Throws Temper Tantrum and Mouthguard, Ejected After Grabbing Ball

Amir Johnson would like it very much if you kindly let him hold that basketball. If not, he will throw quite the tantrum, as well as his mouth guard, in your general direction. 

The Toronto Raptors lost Monday's matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers, and Amir Johnson lost his cool when he wasn't allowed to hold a basketball. 

Yes, you read that correctly. 

In this video, you will see Johnson grab the ball, which is being held by referee David Jones, after a J.J. Hickson free throw. 

Jones, being that he wants to get the ball back to the shooter, doesn't want to give the ball to Johnson, who, like, really wants it. 

No matter how much Johnson tries to convince him with a look that seems to say, "Seriously, I really, really want to hold this ball," the referee holds firm. 

After a few bizarre moments, Jones ejects Johnson for being weird. At least, that's the infraction that I would have levied. 

Yahoo! Sports spotted a video after the game wherein Johnson explains what the hell was going down.

I guess the ref didn't let me have the ball so we kind of got into a tug of war. No words were really said and he rejected me out of the game and I kind of lost my cool from there...My teammates know me, my parents know me ... I never lose my cool. I never said anything to a ref or got mad. The only techs I've gotten were for hanging on the rim or slapping the backboard.

I think it was just really childish. It was something that didn't need to happen. I lost my cool and I apologize on my part.

It seems like Johnson has some OCD rituals, one being touching the ball after a free throw. At least, that's what it looked like from here. 

When he wasn't granted the opportunity to hold the ball, he flipped out. 

Raptors, get this man a ball to hold at all times.
