Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks 11/24/12: Video Highlights and Recap

Mike HoagJun 5, 2018

The Los Angeles Lakers (7-7) took out their road frustrations on the Dirk Nowitzki-less Dallas Mavericks (7-7) at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday night.

This 2012 Lakers roller-coaster season continues, as the team rebounds to get its first road win of the season just one night after losing their fourth straight on the road to the Memphis Grizzlies.

L.A. got off to a quick start, pouring on 36 points in the first quarter and finishing with 65 at the half. The defense also showed up, limiting the usually potent Mavericks to just 38 points in the first half.

The second half wasn’t as entertaining, but the Lakers never let Dallas get back into it.

Antawn Jamison, Metta World Peace and Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 19 points each and Dwight Howard added 15 points and seven boards.

It wasn’t pretty for the Mavs. Their starters combined for just 31 points, led by Vince Carter’s 16 points in 17 minutes off the bench.

Jamison contributed his second good performance for the Lakers. Friday night against Memphis, the 14-year veteran finished with 16 points and seven boards in a losing effort.

Saturday night’s game was an even better performance off the bench. He finished shooting 7-of-11 from the field and scored 19 points while snagging 15 rebounds in 30 minutes.

What’s Next for Los Angeles?

The Lakers will return home to the Staples Center, when they host the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. Indiana (6-8) will be well rested after playing their last game on Friday night.

What’s Next for Dallas?

Dallas will head back on the road and travel to Philadelphia to meet the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night. The Sixers are 7-6 on the season and will host the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.
