Los Angeles Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings 11/21/12: Video Highlights and Recap

Ian HanfordJun 7, 2018

Mike D'Antoni is now 1-1 as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, losing 113-97 to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

This game was all about Kobe Bryant. Bryant had 38 points, but he also had seven turnovers and didn't contribute much otherwise. He did haul down three rebounds and dish three assists, but that's not much considering that he played nearly 39 minutes.

The Kings were paced by Marcus Thornton's 23 points off the bench. Chuck Hayes also contributed 10 points in a reserve role, giving Sacramento a major advantage over the Lakers' thin bench unit.

Los Angeles was down by one entering halftime, but the Kings dominated in the fourth quarter to clinch it. Losing by 12 in the final frame isn't encouraging, especially for a veteran team.

Player of the Game: Marcus Thornton

The Kings were able to dominate because of Thornton's contributions off the bench. Los Angeles barely has anything that resembles depth, making Thornton the man of the hour.

He dropped 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting and hauled down four rebounds. He played more of a "super-sub" role, but there's no doubt that he can score the basketball.

Winning or not, the Kings can be very entertaining to watch.
