Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz 11/7/12: Video Highlights and Recap

Ian HanfordJun 7, 2018

Another game, another loss for the Los Angeles Lakers. After earning their first win over the Detroit Pistons Sunday night, the Lakers dropped their fourth game of the year to the Utah Jazz Wednesday night, 95-86.

The Jazz used a complete team effort to get the job done. Without a superstar on the roster, four different players scored in double figures. Al Jefferson led the way with an 18-point, 10-rebound effort, but Randy Foye's 17 points off of the bench were just as important.

Los Angeles stayed within striking distance for the entire game, but Utah's 25-17 advantage at the end of the first quarter made the difference. Kobe Bryant contributed 29 points, but he only seemed into the game in the final quarter.

Trouble is brewing in Los Angeles. It's very early in the season, but Bryant's body language at the end of this one reeked of disgust. Win or lose, this is the most polarizing team in the league.

Player of the Game: Randy Foye

Jefferson's double-double paced the offense by giving them a go-to guy down the stretch, but Foye's perimeter presence made a huge difference for Utah Wednesday night.

Scoring 17 points on 5-of-9 from three-point land, Foye made the Jazz's offense more versatile. He provided a spark and allowed the frontcourt more room to work down low.

Getting the ball into the paint isn't going to be a problem for the Jazz, but outside shooting could be. If Foye continues playing like this, it will be a major relief.

What's Next for the Los Angeles Lakers?

The 1-4 Lakers will try to turn things around when they welcome the Golden State Warriors Friday night.

What's Next for the Utah Jazz?

The 2-3 Jazz will travel to face the Denver Nuggets Friday evening.
