Brooklyn Nets Unveil Mascot Knight in Saddest Way Possible

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

The Brooklyn Nets' mascot pretty much took the cool out of the arena.

A tip of the hat to SI.com's Hot Clicks for posting this video of what looks to be the saddest mascot ever lowered to any arena floor.

Just terrible.

The mascot is the Brooklyn Knight, and like a YouTube comment points out, he looks like the gimp from Pulp Fiction

The good news is that this unveiling came on a highly-anticipated opening night wherein the Nets procured a win in their first foray in Brooklyn, 107-100 over the Raptors.

So the goodwill was flowing like champagne.

However, it didn't get off to the best start.

Just look at how pitiful this mascot is, coming into the arena like a second-rate professional wrestler. The mascot looks like he is doing everything in his power not to hang his head in shame.

The announcer brings him in with a huge introduction that gets hilarious the second some discount fireworks go off around this knight being lowered to the ground.

The crowd seems to love the mascot—at least, the dozens who actually cheer for him.

The Brooklyn Knight is here, proud Nets fans, and he will bring the awkward each and every home game. Hooray for that.
