Olympics 2012 TV Schedule: Complete Guide to Day 5 in London

Four days are already in the books for the 2012 London Olympics and so far they have been can't miss. Not without a share of surprises, upsets, controversy, rivalries, underdog stories and so much more, the Olympics have so far given us everything we could ask for.

On day five, tons of teams are in action and a handful of medals will be contested for as well. Starting with equestrian and tennis, featuring Novak Djokovic's second round match against Andy Roddick, including pool play for the U.S. men in beach volleyball, water polo and basketball and ending once again with a stellar lineup featuring the gymnastics team finals, men's 200-meter butterfly and more diving finals.

The way things have gone so far, day five could hold the possibility for more surprises and upsets. We can't know for sure what will go down, but what we can know for certain, is that this and the rest of the Olympics, we won't want to miss.

Here are the top events to catch on day five of the London Games. 

Equestrian (NBCSN) 5:45- 8:15 AM, 9:15- 10:35 AM

There are two chances to catch equestrian medal action on day five of the Olympic Games. First up from 5:45-8:15 AM is the four man team show jumping. Team USA will be looking to three-peat in the event that they won gold in back in Athens and Beijing. Returning from that squad is McLain Ward and Beezie Madden. One of the new members is young standout and teen sensation Reed Kessler, who will be looking to win a gold in her Olympic debut.

Later in the morning from 9:15-10:35 AM is the individual jumping medal event. Beezie Madden will be looking to take home the gold after falling just short and winning bronze in Beijing. She comes into the competition well prepared and is in a position to take home two medals on the day.

Tennis (BRAVO) 7:00- 3:00 PM

It is a jam packed day of great tennis matches airing on Bravo. Men's round two action begins the day with tons of stars including Andy Murray, Milos Raonic and David Ferrer in action. The biggest match of the day however will be between Andy Roddick and Novak Djokovic. Nothing is certain, but the winner of this blockbuster clash could very well be one of the three who wind up on the medal podium.

Also on the day is the men's doubles quarterfinals. The Bryan Brothers have so far eased their way through the competition and will be looking to reach the semifinals and hopefully guarantee themselves another shot at a medal.

Canoe/Kayak (NBC) 10:00- 10:30 AM

The first medal will be given out in the canoe/kayak division as the competition for these medals really heats up. In the men's C-1 whitewater final, France's Tony Estanguet is the favorite but there are a handful of competitors that could challenge him for the gold.

Swimming (NBC) 10:30- 11:45 AM, 1:30- 2:15 PM

Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte are just two of a handful of great world swimmers that will be in action as NBC covers the preliminary heats. Eleven races will be held in four events, including the men's 4x100 meter freestyle where Phelps and Lochte will look to redeem their silver medal winning performance on day three. Also in action is Australia's standout James Magnussen, who too looks to redeem his relay performance. He is the world champion and gold medal favorite going into the men's 100-meter freestyle.

Men's Volleyball (NBC) 11:45- 1:30 PM

The U.S. Men's team is back in action as they continue defense of their Beijing gold medal. They successfully won their first round match behind great play from Olympic rookie Matt Anderson and Olympic veteran and 2008 MVP Clay Stanley. They will face Germany in their second match of pool play.

Women's Soccer (NBCSN) 12:15- 2:00 PM

Already guaranteed a berth to the quarterfinals, Team USA takes on North Korea in their final pool play match. They have looked strong so far in their first few matches and have gotten goal scoring from both rookie Alex Morgan and veteran Abby Wambach. The journey to the medals, will begin shortly after this match, the final pool play game for the U.S.

Women's Field Hockey (MSNBC) 2:00- 3:30 PM

The United States has a tough task in front of them in order to make the quarterfinals. They are coming off of a loss to Germany and are facing dominant and two-time defending bronze medalist and world power Argentina, who are coming off of a first round pool play win.

Men's Water Polo (NBC) 2:40- 4:00 PM

The U.S. men's water polo team are coming off of a close win against Montenegro in their first match of pool play. They will be facing a tough opponent in Romania but the U.S. team is the defending silver medalist and expects to contend for gold. In order to do that, the team, behind captain Tony Azevedo, will have to win this matchup and get one step closer to the medal finals.

Men's Beach Volleyball (NBC) 4:00- 5:00 PM

Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers are back in action as they continue their gold medal defense. They came out strong to win their first round matchup and now they are set to face a strong Spanish team in their second game of pool play. They will look to win this game and get one step closer to become the first male beach volleyball team to repeat as gold medalists.

Shooting (NBCSN) 4:45- 5:15 PM

Vincent Hancock of Team USA looks to win another gold medal after he edged out his competition last year in a shoot-out. He is refocused and is one of the top medal favorites going into Tuesday's shooting medal rounds. 

Men's Basketball (NBCSN) 5:15- 7:15 PM

The U.S. continues their quest at yet another basketball gold as they take on Tunisia in a pool play matchup. So far the U.S. is undefeated in pool play and is once again a heavy favorite to win their match against Tunisia. They are gold medal favorites and should easily make it out of their pool play section. They are coming off of a strong 20+ win against France.

NBC Primetime 8:00 PM-12:00 AM

The night once again will come to an end with a handful of sports being covered by NBC. Featured on the night is another diving competition, this time the three-meter springboard. China is the favorite and will look to win gold in search of completing their quest to win all of the diving golds in London.

Also on the night are swimming finals. Michael Phelps will be center stage as he looks to win gold in the event that he has dominated since 2002. If he does become the champion, he will be the first male swimmer to three-peat in an individual event.

Finally, the U.S. women look to defend their world title in gymnastics. They will face tough competition from China and Russia but are going in as the qualifying favorites. Led by Jordyn Weiber, Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas, the U.S. squad should be very tough to beat.
