Breaking Down New Nike Zoom KD IV Gold Shoes

Kevin Durant's game isn't the only silky smooth facet of his NBA persona. The Association's most lethal scorer also treats sneaker-wearing folk to his line of kicks. 

In this case, we are looking at the Nike Zoom KD IV "Gold" shoes. According to nicekicks.com, you can scoop these new shoes up at retail stores starting Saturday, Aug. 18. 

We better take a look at Durant's newest creation before you decide to put them on your feet.

The shoes are gold. When was the last time that color didn't look fly? The shoes' hue alone will force your friends to exuberantly exclaim their praise toward your freshest accessory. 

As far as color schemes go, Durant's shoes are odd, but he somehow makes it work. The red Nike "swoosh" emblazoned on the shoes' wraparound strap is an unexpected complement to the shoes' glamorously gold scheme.

Star power wows people. Outside of LeBron James, there is no bigger star in professional basketball than Durant, and that fact alone will force everyone you walk by to shriek with excitement when they see your feet.

Sneakers aren't just about the tangible aspects of the shoe in today's world. They're also about the name attached to their creation. 

We are used to marveling at Durant's scoring repertoire. Now prepare to gasp at his beautiful new set of kicks.

Design: 10 out of 10

In terms of design, pretty much everything has been done, and that remains true here. Durant didn't make a groundbreaking, trendsetting creation, but he did unveil an efficient design.

I don't like shoes that have a million things going on. Too many colors creates too many different thoughts, and that clouds the vision of the shoe itself.

When I buy a shoe, I want to be able to see the shoe and person donning their appealing features, and this shoe makes that possible. You see three colors on these shoes (besides the speckles on the shoes' black soles).

Gold is the main focus as their name would suggest, but the red "swoosh" and black soles perfectly offset the gold's glitz.

Putting the "swoosh" on the strap encapsulating the shoes' tongue was a brilliant idea. It gives the shoes multiple colors without taking away from the design's main focus. It creates balance without skewing the designer's original intent. 

The simpler the better when it comes to new sneaks. Durant hit that concept on the head.

Overall Swag Grade: 9 out of 10

There isn't much to complain about with these shoes. The design is on point, and Durant's moniker gives NBA fans incentive to purchase their powers. 

If you are looking for shoes you can be proud of, these are for you. Durant didn't overdo it, and there isn't a classier player in the game today. Your friends will be jealous when they see that you picked up the newest addition to KD's collection.

Maybe you like bright pastel colors on your shoes. Maybe you just don't like Kevin Durant.

If either is the case, you will be missing out. While others are rocking the Nike Zoom KD IV "Gold" shoes, and looking good, you will be toiling away in sneaker purgatory waiting for a better looking set to come around.
