Jeremy Lin Parody Features Knicks Fans' Pain as Guard Leaves to Rockets
Jeremy Lin is packing his bags and leaving the Big Apple for humid Houston, and there is a Knicks fan who can't stand the grief.
Here is the one video you can count on going viral in the wake of Linsanity dying in New York, and we thank SportsGrid for the heads up.
Gotye's uber-popular song Somebody I Used to Know gets revamped for the depression being felt by Knicks fans, and is now the "Jeremy Lin I Used to Know."
The lyrics are spot on, and so is the quality and emotion:
"Why'd you have to sign so high
"
Said the Knicks would match it like you never even met James Dolan
I wish that he would pay you bro
Playing for the Rockets and they're still gonna suck
Really, there is nothing New York fans can feel right now but total and utter depression, despite his departure possibly being the right move.
One could make the argument $25 million for Lin was too much, but we aren't looking for logic here.
There was a point during Lin's rise when people scoffed at the thought of the Knicks not bringing him back after this summer.
Well, the moment many thought would never happen has come to pass. The greatest personal story from last season is now draped in another jersey.
There is nothing left to do but sing the blues.
