Young Brooklyn Nets Fan Steals Show at 2012 NBA Draft

Gabe ZaldivarJun 29, 2012

The Brooklyn Nets' crowd is in good hands as the team moves from New Jersey to their brand new digs, especially if they have fans like this rooting them on.

The NBA Draft came and went with the same story lines we cover every year. There were reaches, some nice picks and plenty of boos for the commissioner, David Stern.

Then came this great moment to save me from the late-round doldrums. Just before the night was wrapped up and the last call was proclaimed throughout the building, the Brooklyn Nets took Ilken Karaman.

Yup, that's about right.

I've never understood why fans see the need to make the trip from their couch to their respective sports draft. It seems like far too much work for too little pay-off.

Why sit with a bunch of sports geeks when you can watch from home and eat a couple pounds of buffalo wings without being judged? I guess that's just me.

This little Nets fan is quite the star now.

Deadspin has him in a slightly remixed video that is hilarious. You can really savor the subtle nuances of this beautiful moment.

The kid is just going along with his adult companion who is losing it over this Ilken Karaman selection at No. 57.

SportsGrid also covers a fan who just spent one minute too long at an NBA Draft and found just enough enthusiasm to make it worth his while.

Of course, this is just another piece of evidence that the Nets have the best fans in the business. Need the other filmed factoid?

Yes, that is one plump fanatic.

This is all rather easy to explain. If you grow up with the Nets as your team of choice, you also come equipped with an amazing asset that most of us would kill for.

You are easily impressed.

This might make Tyler Perry movies more tolerable, so we all envy you. Rock on New Jersey, I mean Brooklyn.
