NBA Draft 2012 Results: Damian Lillard and Great Fits from Top 10
There have been a few surprises so far in the NBA draft, but that just means certain players have fallen into perfect positions.
After Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Bradley Beal were selected with the first three picks, the Cleveland Cavaliers surprised some people with Dion Waiters at No. 4.
That changed everything.

Let's take a look at what players fell to the perfect team and perfect situation.
Note: For the sake of this article, I'm strictly looking at players taken between No. 5 and 10.
Damian Lillard, PG, Portland Trail Blazers
With Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford both hitting free agency, the Blazers needed a point guard.
While people will question whether or not Lillard can be a true floor general, his ability to absolutely light up the scoreboard is second to none. He's as much of a point guard as Russell Westbrook was coming out of UCLA.
Now, even if he isn't a true point guard, Lillard runs the pick-and-roll tremendously well, which makes him a great fit with the Blazers.
Not only is LaMarcus Aldridge a great big man for the pick and roll, Lillard has Wesley Matthews and Nic Batum as shooters on the outside.
The Blazers are going to be scary good on offense.
Barnes is an electric scorer. He's easily one of the best shooters in this draft, and even though he struggles to create his own shot, he can score from anywhere on the court if he's not the first or second option.
Luckily for Barnes, he won't be the first or second option in Golden State.
As long as Stephen Curry stays healthy, he and Klay Thompson will take the pressure off Barnes and give him plenty of open shots. Because of that, Barnes will thrive.
The Warriors are going to be able to score a lot of points, the question will be if they can defend or not. Nonetheless, I like the pick.
Andre Drummond, PF/C, Detroit Pistons
Just think about it. Drummond and Greg Monroe. Yup.
If there are two big men who will complement each other better, I don't know who they are. Monroe is a terrific offensive player, but he's not long, he plays below the rim and he isn't a great defender.
Enter Drummond, who is incredibly raw and undeveloped on offense, but is long, athletic and can block around two shots per game at the next level.
Drummond falling to No. 9 could cause some general managers to be fired in the future.
