Nike Hyperdunk Plus: New Nike Shoes Will Be Worth Every Penny
Now, I'm not the world's biggest sneaker fan. I don't lose sleep the night before a much-anticipated line of kicks is released, nor am I first at the store to buy them.
So when I say that the new Nike Hyperdunk Plus shoes are really sweet, you know they made an impression.
Stylistically, the shoes speak—some may say scream—for themselves. But it's some of the features that have also caught my eye.

From Nike.com:
"Embedded Nike+ sensors in the shoes track every move on the court—and wirelessly sync your stats with your phone. Nike+ Basketball measures vertical jump, quickness & hustle—then converts it all to NikeFuel.
"
"Lunarlon and Phylon midsole delivers soft and responsive lightweight cushioning. Latest Flywire technology provides dynamic support and adaptive fit. Glass-reinforced composite midfoot shank improves stability & responsiveness.
"
Personally, I don't need a shoe to tell me that I can't jump very high—there is plenty of empirical evidence (like my jump shot getting blocked) to already support that thesis.
But if I were an athlete in training, that little tool would be quite handy.
And no, I don't understand what all that gibberish about "Lunarlon and Phylon midsole" means—sounds like something out of Mass Effect to me—but I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be impressed by it.
Because, you know, it provides "dynamic support and adaptive fit." In other words, it's comfortable.
Plus, the shoes just look sweet. I enjoy the black and electric blue pair in the cover picture, but my money would definitely be going to the white and lime green version.
Now that's a flipping sweet pair of kicks.
These bad boys will probably cost you a pretty penny, but if you're a shoe enthusiast and basketball junkie—and if measuring your vertical leap or quickness will help you in your training—these shoes are worth the cost.
Go with the lime green.
