NBA Draft 2012: Harrison Barnes and Players Worth Trading Up for
Harrison Barnes is on the Chicago Bulls' radar, and per Neil Walker of the Chicago Sun Times, the Bulls may be willing to part with Luol Deng for the rights to draft him.
Barnes is athletic. He played two years at North Carolina and he is one of the more proven prospects in the draft. He'd be a less-expensive but more athletic option for the Bulls at the small forward position.
If the Bulls can find a buyer, they would be wise to make this move.
Looking down at the rest of the draft board, a few other players could be the motivation teams need to move up in tonight's NBA draft.
Thomas Robinson
I have Robinson penciled in at the No. 2 spot for the Bobcats, but the Cats are open to trading this pick, per Michael Lee of the Washington Post.
Robinson is another highly touted collegiate prospect. He has had three years experience at Kansas, and he had a monster year last season.
He averaged over 17 points and almost 12 rebounds per game. He has a great work ethic and solid intangibles. Teams know what they are getting with Robinson, and that makes him an attractive possibility.
Andre Drummond
I believe in Drummond. He has not been the most celebrated of the top talents in the draft, but the fact remains a player with his size (6'11" 280 pounds) and athleticism (39" vertical leap) is a rarity.
He's only 18 years old, and the Andrew Bynum/Amar'e Stoudemire similarities are a lot to ignore. I hear the criticism, and I've even seen some of it validated in watching him play last season.
But there is a ton of development left in this kid. He seems to be dropping on many mock drafts, and a non-lottery team may be able to move up a few spots to take him.
