Mayweather vs. Cotto Fight Time: Undercard and Main-Event Start Times
With Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto ready to go to war, it’s time to make sure you are where you need to be when the bell rings to start the fight.
While it’s very important to keep an eye on the times as they are always subject to change, the fight has rough parameters that promoters generally stick by.
Where: Saturday, May 5, 9 p.m. ET
When: MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas
Watch: HBO PPV
All times subject to change (according to Bovada).
Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto—11:30 p.m. ET
At this point, there is no doubt that these men are ready for a war. Cotto knows what to expect from Mayweather have watching hundreds of hours of tape, but it won’t be that easy. Mayweather is defending his honor on Saturday and will be ready for anything Cotto can throw his way.
Predicted Winner: Mayweather via decision.
Saul Alvarez vs. Shane Mosley—11 p.m. ET
In the ultimate meeting of past and present, the 40-year-old Shane Mosley will take on 39-0-1 Saul Alvarez. If Alvarez can force Mosley back on his heels, there is no way that the veteran will be able to overcome the speed and power on the young star.
Predicted Winner: Alvarez via sixth-round TKO.
Jessie Vargas vs. Steve Forbes—9:45 p.m. ET
While I will never count anyone out of a fight, Steve Forbes comes into this bout as the sizeable underdog. Jessie Vargas is a hard thrower that will cut Forbes down early.
Predicted Winner: Vargas via third-round TKO.
Deandre Latimore vs. Carlos Quintana—9 p.m. ET
While there isn’t much expected out of the evening’s opening bout, Deandre Latimore and Carlos Quintana are coming out to prove their worth to the world. I expect this to be a far better fight than anyone will expect.
Predicted Winner: Latimore via unanimous decision.
