Amile Jefferson: Kentucky Is Clearly Best Choice for Prep Star
Prized recruit Amile Jefferson will choose the University of Kentucky. I don't have any inside information on his selection process. I just know that this fit makes too much sense for him to choose anywhere else.
To understand what a perfect fit Kentucky is for Jefferson, we must first get a feel for the type of player he is.
Jefferson is a lanky forward. Draft Express has him listed at 6'9" with a 7' wingspan. He has a tremendous feel for the game.

He has decent ball-handling skills and a mid-range jumper. He also features a highly-developed post game.
He checks in at under 200 pounds, but his length will allow him to play power forward in college, and his skill set would also allow him to play small forward.
Why Kentucky is the Best Fit
The starting five that won the national championship for Kentucky have all declared for the upcoming NBA draft.
This would be a huge blow for most programs, but not for Kentucky. They simply reload. They have a solid class of freshman coming in that should provide four starters.
However, they still have a need at forward, and Jefferson is the perfect fit.
Kentucky loves long and athletic players, and Jefferson fits that mold. He is also the perfect complement to incoming center Nerlens Noel.
Noel's elite defense will hold down the middle. This will limit Jefferson's defensive liabilities in the post.
Offensively, he brings a more polished post game than Noel, plus the ability to stretch the defense a bit, and take the ball to the rack.
Kentucky would provide Jefferson with a ton of playing time, and a chance to showcase his skills. This school has turned into an NBA factory, and it is the best and quickest route for Jefferson to punch his NBA ticket.
