NFL 2012 Season: 5 Teams That We'd Like to See on HBO's Hard Knocks
The NFL season is still a few months away from taking place, but with the draft kicking off this week, the season will be here before you know it. With every day that passes, we inch closer to training camp beginning and everything else that comes with this great sport.
When the season gets closer, there's another thing that we have to look forward to, and that's the Hard Knocks show that takes place on HBO. It's provided us with a great inside look of how football life is through the brutal training camps over the years and lets us see a sneak peak of things the fans normally don't get to see.
The show also provides a lot of drama and off-the-field distractions, which is why some teams are reported to have turned down any offer the show may have extended.
As Hard Knocks continues to try and find a team to cover for this season, here are five teams we'd all love to see with cameras around them.
Washington Redskins
1 of 5Washington may have finished last season with a 5-11 record, but this is a very talented team that will likely have an interesting and talented quarterback in Robert Griffin. We'll get to see a talented team on the rise and get to enjoy a rookie quarterback that will likely be one of the better players in this league in a year or two.
I'm sure they could also throw in some footage of linebacker Brian Orakpo working out as well. And cornerback DeAngelo Hall is no stranger to controversy that could provide for some great film work.
Philadelphia Eagles
2 of 5The Philadelphia Eagles have all of the talent in the world to become a Super Bowl contender and were probably the best 8-8 team of all-time last season. Majority of the team returns from a year ago, and it'd be interesting to see how this team is going to respond after a disappointing season. With a year of chemistry in their favor, you'd expect a more successful season.
As for drama, you know wide receiver DeSean Jackson will be very entertaining and likely say something crazy. It may not be as foolish as to what quarterback Vince Young said last year, but still. This team is full of characters and would provide great television as they continue the search for their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history.
San Francisco 49ers
3 of 5It's already been reported that the 49ers will likely decline any invite to appear on the show, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't like to see them. Jim Harbaugh is one of the more interesting head coaches in the league and seems like a guy that you wouldn't mind actually hanging out with.
As for the team itself, they don't have a true superstar player, but win games the old fashioned way, in running the football and playing defense. This is an extremely tough-nosed football team and it'd be fun to see how loose they are as a unit when the games aren't going on.
San Francisco showed what they were capable of last season, a Hard Knocks series could introduce them to the rest of the NFL world as they seem to still be that team that many forget to mention.
New England Patriots
4 of 5I know Hard Knocks is about trying to find a team that's entertaining and will provide great television with a bunch of intriguing storylines. But if you're a hardcore football fan that enjoys the X's and O's and hearing guys talk about football that are smarter than you and I will ever be, the Patriots are the team you want to see.
There aren't many players on this roster that will provide great television, but you'll learn a thing or two watching head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady breaking down film and discussing football on the sidelines. Of course, this will likely never happen because of how private this team is, but picture something like this happening every week.
I would pay good money to see a Hard Knocks season on this team.
New York Jets
5 of 5I know the Jets were the last team to appear on the show, but who wouldn't like to see them again? Every episode provided some type of drama, whether it was Antonio Cromartie naming all of his 46 kids (eight to be exact) or Darrelle Revis ending his holdout.
I mean, seriously, how in the world can you ever get tired of seeing things like this?
And now the Jets added Tim Tebow, which will only make for even better television. The Jets have said they would consider it if HBO wanted to feature them for the second time in three year's. It's just really up to them to extend the offer.
I'm sure many are tired of hearing head coach Rex Ryan run his mouth every year, but it sure beats having to watch the Jacksonville Jaguars.
