When the two New York-area teams square off Wednesday night, the New Jersey Nets will have a chance to play spoiler on the New York Knicks' playoff dreams.
While the Nets have nothing but pride to play for, the Knicks have five games remaining to ensure that they are playoff bound. Those hopes and dreams start in New Jersey tonight.

Betting Line (Covers): Over/Under, OFF; Spread, New York -5
With the over/under off on this game for now, it’s clear that the injuries the Knicks are facing have oddsmakers on edge. With that said, I think New York easily beats New Jersey by more than five points.

What They're Saying
Associated Press NBA writer Brian Mahoney is reporting about the Nets' final home game and how the fans are reacting:
""Nets announce tribute plans for final home game Mon, a night after the 'home' fans cheer for LeBron and a day before they do it for Knicks."
— Brian Mahoney (@briancmahoney) April 17, 2012"
Amar’e Stoudemire told the New York Post about his coaches' statements targeting Friday, April 20 as his return date from a back injury that cost him at least 14 games, including Wednesday’s matchup with the Nets:
""'Is that right? Sounds pretty good. We'll see...I definitely have to get some games under my belt before the playoffs. There's a little hint.'"
"
Key Matchup: Carmelo Anthony vs. Anyone
After scoring 35 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists against a tough Boston Celtics team, Carmelo Anthony will lead the Knicks into New Jersey where they will absolutely dismantle the Nets.
With no Deron Williams, Brook Lopez or Gerald Wallace, New York wins by more than 20 points. No one healthy on the Nets can cover Anthony.
Prediction: Knicks 99, Nets 77
The Knicks are in an absolute war in the Eastern Conference with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers for the final two spots in the playoffs. With a win tonight, New York would have the momentum on its side and wouldn't look back.
If the Knicks win tonight, they are heading to the playoffs.
