WEMBY TURNOVER LEADS TO KNICKS WIN 😱

Fantasy Hoops Waiver-Wire Bin, Vol. 11

Ryan LesterJan 23, 2009

I’ve scoured the fantasy baskeball waiver wires to find gems so you don’t have to.

GUARD
Rafer Alston, Houston
Rafer has has a nice couple of weeks averaging 18.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.0 steal, and 2.6 three-pointers in his last five games.  He shot 45.9% from the floor, 71.4% from the line, and 44.8% from three.  He has a $4.21M cap number in the Sporting News salary cap game, and is owned in 72.9% of ESPN and 56% of Yahoo leagues.

Ronnie Brewer, Utah

Ronnie has been on a little tear averaging 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.3 three-pointers in his last four games.  He shot 60.5% from the floor, 93.7% from the line, and 71.4% from downtown.  He has a $3.43M SN cap number, and is owned in 72.6% of ESPN and 66% of Yahoo leagues.  He qualifies at SG & SF.

FORWARD

Ronny Turiaf, Golden State

Depending on how long Andris Biedrins is out, Turiaf’s value could be even higher.  He’s been one of the top shot blockers all year so he’s a good plug-in guy if you need a boost in that category.  In his last four games he’s averaging 7.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.8 blocks.  He shot 52.4% from the floor and 77.8% from the line.  He has a $0.93M SN cap number, and is owned in 1.5% of ESPN and 13% of Yahoo leagues.  He qualifies at PF & C.

Kelenna Azubuike, Golden State

The London native has been on fire for Golden State.  Monta Ellis’ return could hinder his production, but Golden State has plenty of offense to supply several fantasy contributors.  In his last five games, Kelenna has averaged 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal, and 2.2 three-pointers per game. He shot 49.1% from the field, 73.1% from the line and 64.7% from downtown. He has a $1.79M SN cap number, and is owned in 27.6% of ESPN and 53% of Yahoo leagues.  He qualifies at SG & SF.

CENTER

DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers

Jordan has started getting bigger minutes with the Clippers (38.5 per game) in his last two games.  He responded with averages of 15.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 5.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals.  He shot 83.3% from the floor.  He was 25% from the line, but at least it was just one for four.  He did average 2.0 turnovers in case you’re concerned.  He has a $0.55M SN cap number, and is owned in 1.9% of ESPN and 11% of Yahoo leagues.  He qualifies at PF & C. He should have decent value as long as Chris Kaman is out. His big time production came when Marcus Camby was out, but he may have shown enough to get a few extra minutes.
