Los Angeles Lakers Win the Battle of LA for the 19th Straight Time

Peter EmerickJun 7, 2018

Well there you have it.

With a 113-108 win over the Clippers, the Lakers won the season series between their home-court rivals for the 19th straight year.

While the score makes the game look a lot closer than it actually was, as the Lakers dominated throughout, there's no doubt that the Lakers are the more complete and more consistent team that calls the Staples Center their home.

Andrew Bynum dominated the paint with 36 points, eight rebounds and four blocks on the night, which easily earns him the player of the game honor.

Kobe Bryant did his due diligence as well, with 31 points, which included a number of fourth-quarter shots that only Kobe could make.  Kobe hit fade-away jumpers with hands all over him, to help the Lakers maintain their lead throughout the majority of the fourth quarter.

Ultimately the team-work of the Lakers was too much for the inconsistent Clippers to handle.

This game has legitimate weight in the Western Conference playoff picture, as the Lakers now hold a significant tie-breaker over the Clippers.

There's no doubt that the Lakers and Clippers are both good teams, but in all honesty, the Lakers proved that they are just a little bit better.
