The Chicago Tribune is reporting that a tragic rash of violence occurred, with the worst, by their measure, taking place at the 1400 block of West 79th Street in the Gresham neighborhood, where two men in hooded sweatshirts entered a convenience store and opened fire.

Four hours later, a black car drove up and opened fire in a parking lot at the 4100 block of West Roosevelt Road. In total, 13 people were shot in the two shootings, and two have died.

NBC 5 Chicago has more on the development as it pertains to Wade, who is set to take on the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre on Friday night.

According to the NBC report, Rev. Michael Pfleger stated on Friday that one of the wounded was a nephew of the Miami Heat guard. However, neither the agent nor Wade himself has been reached for comment.

His nephew seems to have been injured in the shooting that took place at the 1400-block convenience store. The report states the following on that location:

"

"Six people were shot about 6 p.m. Thursday night at a community grocery store in the 1400 block of West 79th Street. One died and five others were wounded, officials said. All the victims are between 16 and 25 years old."

"

The report states that there are no suspects in custody regarding this particular shooting.
