Power Ranking the Top 10 NBA Centers

Joel C. CordesMar 29, 2012

Where do Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum and Joakim Noah stand among the NBA’s Top 10 Centers?

Watch to see where they rank according to Bleacher Report’s resident NBA GM, Joel C. Cordes.

These players’ statistics certainly played a big part in ordering the list. However, deciding factors also included intangibles like offensive diversity, chemistry, drive and two-way reliability.

Tyson Chandler, Nikola Pekovic, and Javale McGee all have facets of their game that were noted, but they are not complete enough players to reach the upper echelon.

Nene, Brook Lopez, Andrew Bogut, Anderson Varejao, Spencer Hawes and Emeka Okafor are also coveted big men who could have warranted fringe conversation, if healthy.

All-Stars like Tim Duncan, Al Horford, Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge have also effectively played the center spot before. Yet, they were not considered, as pivot isn’t their preferred position.

Greg Monroe and DeMarcus Cousins are not prototypical centers either, but they made the list. Their teams have required those two to play in the middle without second thought.

Al Jefferson, Chris Kaman, Roy Hibbert, Marcin Gortat and Marc Gasol also made the Top 10.
