Video: Samuel L. Jackson as Shaft Introduces Clippers vs. Hornets Lineups
In true Shaft fashion, the one and only Samuel L. Jackson introduced the starting lineups of the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Hornets on Thursday night.
When it came to Chris Paul, the former Hornet, Jackson was as cold as Shaft could be, saying, "Was No. 1 in your heart, still No. 3 on your programs...Chris Paul!"
Ouch.
When it came to the Hornets, Jackson got medieval, unleashing a famous Pulp Fiction monologue fit to shake opponents in their shoes.
The Hornets should honestly just have Jackson announce the lineups every game. The fury and determination in his voice was fit for a championship team, and—what do you know—the Hornets beat the Clippers on Thursday, 97-90.
It's also worth noting that Jackson's target, CP3, went only 5-of-14 from the floor. Oh yes, even Paul gets rattled by the words of Mr. Samuel L. Jackson.
The Clippers as a team shot under 39 percent from the floor, while the Hornets shot 57 percent, with five different players scoring at least 12 points.
Chris Kaman, clearly a Pulp Fiction fan, scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The man matched up against Paul, Jarrett Jack, scored 17 points and dished out nine assists.
So much for the Hornets being one of the worst teams in the NBA.
With Shaft on their side, they can do no wrong.
If only they had his pep talk before the season began.
