Fantasy Basketball: Kendrick Perkins Cleaning the Glass
When he is not busy getting posterized on the wrong end of a dunk or collecting technicals more often than Rasheed Wallace used to, Perkins has been busy hitting the glass.
In his last seven games, Perkins has averaged 10.4 rebounds per game, collecting double-digit boards in five of those games. On the year, he is averaging 6.5 rebounds per night, but he only had one double-digit rebounding game during the first two months of the season.
Since February 6th, he has had seven.
Perkins has averaged 1.9 blocks over the past seven games, as well. But, that number is deceiving thanks to a six block game on February 20th against the New Orleans Hornets.
Still, he has been good for 1.2 blocks per game, so that is another category he can help you in.
Scoring, however, is a different story. Perkins has a 4.4 ppg average, and has only reached double-figures twice on the year, the last one coming on February 10th.
With 0.9 assist per game and 0.3 steal per game averages, Perkins is basically a two-category player. While he is a 55.5 percent career shooter, that is down to 45.1 percent this year. Besides, he doesn’t take enough shots to really make a big difference either way.
Perkins is owned in 11.1 percent of ESPN leagues and 29 percent of Yahoo! leagues. If you are looking for a big man to give you a rebounds boost and can afford to have minimal scoring, Kendrick Perkins can fill that role.
