Nike and Basketball: Breaking Down Nike's Game-Changing New Kicks
Nike continues to push forward in all aspects. Their latest basketball sneaker truly brings us into the digital age by gauging your workouts and improving your game.
The latest Hyperdunk takes basketball training to another level. Sensors in the shoe will give you information on how far you ran and how high you jumped.
Now hoop heads can look good and continue to hone their craft all at the same time. Here is the latest on the newest and most technologically advanced sneaker we have seen. The Nike website simply notes the shoes will drop this summer.
Wow Factor: 9 out of 10
This is different than our usual sneaker reviews. We aren't looking solely at the look and feel of the shoe, rather what it gives you in a training tool.
In all regards, Nike is winning from a "wow" perspective. The sensors feed your phone information via bluetooth about quickness and height on your vertical.
Design: 8 out of 10
I give credit where it's due, and Nike managed to make these shoes look clean. It would be easy to get a little heavy handed with the "futuristic" look of shoes that have a great deal of tech in them.
I like the better, simple touch of hot colors on the sneaker. I am also digging the icy on the outsole. These things may be for training, but I wouldn't mind being caught out of the gym in them.
Overall Swag Grade: 8.5 out of 10
These are made for the serious ballers that want to continue pushing forward with their game. With that, Nike pushes the envelope of what sneakers can be used to accomplish.
I do have to say, though. If you rock these at the gym, you better come hard with the game or you might just get clowned out of the gym for mixing tech with good old fashioned perspiration.
As long as you are a true baller, it should work out fine.
