Knicks vs Heat: Why LeBron, D-Wade Are on a Mission to Embarrass Jeremy Lin

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking it's stupid to suggest that Jeremy Lin is even on Dwyane Wade's and LeBron James' radar. So why should I suggest that they are on a mission to embarrass Lin?

Because he's there.

The Heat are playing one game at a time right now. Focusing on and destroying each particular opponent in their path. 

Earlier in the season they were playing like they were already in the playoffs and just biding time until the rest of the league got there too. As a result, they were dropping games to subpar opponents. They nearly lost to the Hornets. They dropped to games to the Milwaukee Bucks. They dropped a game to the Golden State Warriors. 

The Heat were lapsing into complacency, and as a result, getting beaten by far inferior teams. 

They've been playing like they want every team to pay for every loss they've ever suffered lately, destroying everyone in their path. They are playing like a team of army ants, leaving nothing but a swath of destruction behind them. 

They've won their last six games by double digits, and a total of 106 points. They've outrebounded their opponents by 61. They've shot .099 points better form the field, .120 from the three. They've had 10 more steals, 10 more blocks and seven more assists. 

The Heat are focused right now, but not on the championship, on the opponent in front of them. Tonight that's Sacramento. Thursday it will be Lin, the New York Knicks and all the Linsanity that goes with it. It's not personal. It's just there. 

You don't win championships by leaping there. You get there walking one determined step at a time. Right now the Heat are playing the best they've played together because they are playing one game at a time.
