Is LeBron James Enjoying Linsanity?

Joshua CarrollJun 1, 2018

What has LeBron James been up to lately? You probably don't know. Haven't seen much of him on SportsCenter lately other than the occasional gaudy stat line or alley-oop finish.

So what has he been doing other than continuing to put up All-Star type numbers and leading the Heat to wins in 16 out of their last 19 games? He's been enjoying Linsanity just like everyone else, but for different reasons.

On Friday LeBron James visited Cleveland again, a match up that has been one of the most hyped-up games in the league since "The Decision." However, not so much this time.

LeBron even made some bonehead statements about how he could see himself playing in Cleveland again one day. Oh, just think of all the directions the media could have run with that one.

But instead they were covering Jeremy Lin, coming up with some Lincredible expressions, and criticizing the teams that let him go.

The Heat are arguably one of the most talented teams the sports world has ever seen, yet also one of the most criticized teams in sports history. They have been held to irrational standards since the Big Three came together and scrutinized through a microscopic lens.

LeBron James may not be the most hated player in the league according to polls, but he still ranks a close second. It used to seem as though the spotlight would never be taken off the Heat for as long as LeBron played in Miami.

But then came along Jeremy Lin and his underdog story that you can't help but know about, considering the fact that he's been on every sports network, station, channel, show for the past two weeks.

You don't think LeBron is enjoying this? Miami has quietly put together an extremely impressive stretch of games and look stronger than ever as we reach the midpoint of the season.

Yet your average basketball fan wouldn't be able to tell you that, but I guarantee they can tell you every little detail about Lin and the bumpy road he traveled before Linsanity took over the sports world.

Now as the Heat prepare to match up with the new and improved New York Knicks on Thursday, look for the media to turn their cameras toward the Heat once again.

Jeremy Lin is one of the greatest stories the NBA has ever seen, but with the return of Carmelo, the Knicks have some figuring out to do.

Meanwhile, the Heat are primed and ready to compete for a championship today.

That being said, I'm sure LeBron hasn't minded the decrease in attention he has received. He has openly wished Lin and the Knicks the best of luck, except against them, of course.

Usually it's the media driving LeBron insane, that is of course before they went Linsane.
