Jeremy Lin Video: Watch Knicks Star Dismiss Rumors of Kim Kardashian

There are millions of people in this country that could only dream of being the overnight sensation that Jeremy Lin has become. The rise to fame is unprecedented in recent sports history, and his popularity continues to grow with every jump shot he makes.

So, when you get linked to reality star Kim Kardashian…in America, you have officially made it.

ABC News ran a two minute interview with the New York Knicks point guard, and anchor Josh Elliott introduces the piece by Rachel Nichols by saying it was a “Lintamite” moment. Good thing you’re not on ESPN any more, Josh.

Anyway, once the piece starts rolling, the ultra-down-to-earth Lin talks about how it took about five days to realize that he had become a national phenomenon. While thousands of New Yorkers scrambled to find his jersey, Lin didn’t even know they sold it.

Pretty amazing, but not as amazing as his response to rumors he was dating Kim Kardashian. Lin simply laughs and can barely keep a straight face as he says, “I don’t think I’m her type.”

I’m not sure if that’s a diss to Kim, ex-husband Kris Humphries and Reggie Bush or to himself, but just the thought is incredibly hilarious. Pretty sure a 23-year-old that is Harvard educated is not Kim K’s type.

That’s the beauty of Lin. He is all guts and no glam. He is rewriting the book on Asian-American basketball players, and he still acts like just another guy who crashes on his brother’s couch. Controversy has swirled over racial insensitivity when talking about him. Lin just shrugs it off and keeps scoring over 25 points a game.

The rumor that Carmelo Anthony’s wife LaLa tried to connect the two says more about Lin’s popularity than anything. Gossip websites try to dig up dirt on every popular athlete, and when they don’t have anything to hide, the sites make up the gossip on their own.

Well, put your shovels away, because Lin is single, and the international sensation seems to be enjoying every minute of it.
