Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Looking at the Latest Buzz in Lakerland
Another road loss for the Los Angeles Lakers this week in Philadelphia barely has the Lakers treading above water at 14-11.
General manager Mitch Kupchak needs to make some moves, and do so rather quickly.
Here's a quick look at the latest in rumors surrounding the Lakers.
Gilbert Arenas: The Lakers are open to attending Arenas' workout in Los Angeles this week and really have nothing to lose by doing so. It's doubtful that Arenas is the type of player they need right now, but maybe they get lucky.
Rajon Rondo: In the biggest new of the week, both the Lakers and Boston Celtics confirmed that they had interest in a Rajon Rondo for Pau Gasol swap. In regard to the Rondo talks, according to Eric Pincus of Hoopsworld Kupchak had the following to say.
"“Well, if there were a way for us to get a 25-year-old, All-Star, ball-handling guard we’d love to do it … but that’s not likely in February. So you look at other alternatives, and see if it’s better than what you have. That’s all.”
"
Jonny Flynn: The Lakers and Knicks both have contacted the Rockets about Flynn, although ESPN reported that the Knicks have shown more interest to date.
Rasheed Wallace: Marc Spears reported that the Lakers could have interest in Wallace after they failed to sign Kenyon Martin, but to date, there doesn't seem to be much there.
Ramon Sessions: The Lakers need a point guard and have called the Cavaliers about Sessions. Cleveland's asking price is a first-round pick, and that could be a little steep right now.
