Kobe Bryant: 5 Reasons We'd Like to See Black Mamba Reignite Feud with Shaq

Matt ShetlerJun 4, 2018

Kobe Bryant passed former teammate Shaquille O'Neal for fifth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list last night and Shaq had some congratulatory things to say about his former teammate.

But where's the fun in that?

These two are much better when they are feuding. Let them kiss and make up when Bryant eventually retires.

Their feud makes for better television and here's some reasons why it should reignite.

Shaq Is on TV

1 of 5

Shaq is on the TNT set. He likes to entertain.

He has the stage and the platform to reignite the personal rivalry.

Just a couple jabs at Bryant here and there and we have some must-see television.

We Keep Talking About It

2 of 5

It's been a decade since the two last played together, but we still keep bringing up up the past rivalry.

Despite the fact that they claim to have buried the hatchet, we watch and pay attention to them because the tension was real.

Possibly never again will we see a duo that accomplished so much together, but really didn't like each other in the locker room.

It's worth watching.

Personalities

3 of 5

We want to see this rivalry ignited because their personalities captivate us.

They are total opposites of one another.

In one corner we have Shaq: the lovable big man who loves people and loves to entertain and joke around.

In the other corner we have Bryant. He's fine being cast in the role as the bad guy. He's all business and could care less if he's liked or not.

Shaq Can Push Kobe's Buttons

4 of 5

Bryant is having a great season, but like any other great, when he's out to prove a point he's even better.

Shaq knows how to push Kobe's buttons and if he gets under his skin, Kobe could raise his game to an even higher level. That would be something special to watch.

It would be Bryant's way of answering back and saying, "I told you so."

It's Fun

Aren't you tired of hearing that Dwight Howard still wants to be traded every other day?

We need something fun to talk about.

Shaq and Kobe starting back up could be exactly what the NBA needs in terms of drama.

They don't like each other anyway. Why pretend anymore?
