Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: 10 Reasons Why the Heat Should Offer Dwyane Wade

Dwight Howard has been the focal point of several trade rumors in the past year. Almost every option has been explored by the colonists and NBA writers. However, what if the Magic would be open to discussing a trade with the Miami Heat for Dwyane Wade? It seems very unlikely, but it would be a perfect trade for both teams.

No. 10: Miami Heat Can Live Without Wade

The Miami Heat can deal without Dwyane Wade and they proved it several times in the past year. When Wade is out of the lineup, Lebron James takes care of the business. This year, without Wade in the lineup, Miami has six wins in seven games.

What does Lebron James need to win more games? A shooting guard who has skills similar to his, or a monster in the center? Yes, Miami can live without Wade.

No. 9: Dwight Howard Is the Best Center Since Shaquille O'Neal

Dwight Howard is definitely the best center in the game and there isn't any debate around it.  DH12 averaged a double-double in each season since coming into the league.

Do you know what is scary about it? Dwight Howard keeps improving. Last year, he had his best season in terms of rebounds (14.1 per game) and points (22.9 per game).

This year, Howard isn't slowing down either as his numbers are just as good. After 16 games, he averages 16.0 rebounds and 20.1 points per game.

The last time Miami won a championship, they had the best center in the NBA in their lineup. It isn't a coincidence.

Dwight Howard isn't made of plastic. He is as durable as any NBA player. In seven-plus seasons, Howard has played in 583 games. He only missed seven possible games and only three of them were injury related.

As for D-Wade, he's played in 556 games in eight-plus seasons. He has never played a full 82-game season.

The Thunder will never trade Durant. The Clippers just acquired Chris Paul and Lebron James is slightly better and younger than Wade. Therefore, the best player available to the Magic would be D-Wade.

I'm not talking about packages of players, just one individual player. Without any doubt, Wade is the best player Orlando could get in exchange for Howard.

This current NBA era is lead by star players. If you want to make it to the end, you need an elite player. Wade is the only one who fits in that category for Orlando.

No. 6: Dwayne Wade Is Used to Leading a Team by Himself

Dwyane has been the only star player on the Heat roster for a few years. He is able to take the load and bring his team to the postseason.

With Wade in the lineup, Orlando is sure to participate in the playoffs every year. If Orlando instead gets a package of players, we can't assure the same thing.

Rumors were circulating regarding the Warriors offering Curry or Ellis for Howard. As far as I'm concerned, the Warriors didn't make the playoffs with both of these players in the lineup. Why would the Magic make it? Other than Howard, this lineup is very weak.

The priority for any NBA franchise is to make the playoffs. Dwayne Wade could take care of it if he was traded to Orlando.

No. 5: Dwight Howard Would Re-Sign with Miami

Otis Smith expressed that he thinks Howard wants a bigger market. Well, Miami would definitely be a bigger market than Orlando.

Dwight Howard could have all the media attention he wants with people scrutinizing his every move in South Beach. Ask Lebron about it.

Also, Dwight Howard would see his wish to team up with star players come true. Indeed, playing with Lebron James and Chris Bosh would be much better than playing with Turkoglu and Glen Davis.

Howard would definitely be tempted to extend his contract with the Miami Heat.

No. 4: It Won't Change Anything in the Divison

Sending Howard to Miami can be scary as you might think that Orlando will never win the division. Let's be honest, the Magic won't win the division with or without Dwight Howard on their team.

Currently, the Miami Heat has too many weapons and Dwight Howard can't beat them all. Even more, if Dwight Howard gets traded anywhere else, the players in return won't be able to beat King James, D-Wade and Chris Bosh.

Some rumors suggests that the Knicks would offer Amar'e Stoudemire for Dwight Howard; the Warriors would offer Stephen Curry or Monta Ellis; the Nets would offer Brook Lopez.

Do you really think that Orlando could have more wins than Miami with any of these players? Definitely not.

Orlando can't be afraid of sending Howard to a rival team. Let's face it, they have better chances with Wade than with any other NBA player.

No. 3: Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller Could Be Included in the Deal

Udonis Haslem is a great friend of Dwyane Wade. Wade even personally asked the Heat to retain Haslem. How about sending him away with Wade to Orlando?

Orlando could use him to fill the void left by Howard. Haslem is an attractive trade asset. He is signed for four more years and earns just below $4 million per season. It fits.

As for Mike Miller, he is also signed for four more years and has a salary of over $5 million a season. If Miami sends both players and restructures the deal for Howard, they could take Hedo Turkoglu.
