Tom Brady Sucks, Kobe's out $75 Million: BR5 1/23/12

Tom Brady says he sucks. The ever-humble Patriots QB gives credit to his team's defense for helping advance them to the Super Bowl. Brady had no TDs and two picks against the Ravens. After the game he told reporters, ”Well, I sucked pretty bad today...as a quarterback you never want to turn the ball over...”

Thomas Berditch manages the near impossible at the Australian Open—he wins a really long, really close match and then gets the whole crowd to boo him.  The seventh seed from the Czech Republic refused to shake hands with his opponent—violating the very first rule of sportsmanship. His reason for the snub? He says NIcolas Almagro hit him with a tennis ball...on purpose.  

In Pot calling the Kettle black news, Steven Tyler did an interesting rendition of the National Anthem before the Patriots-Ravens game yesterday. Tyler, known for famously wailing like a banshee during his years as the lead singer of Aerosmith, is now one of the judges on American Idol.  I'm not sure what was more jaw dropping, those Tyler notes or the missed field goal that ended the Raven's season.   

If you want to earn a quick 75 million bucks, marry Kobe Bryant for a little while. Kobe’s ex, Vanessa is reportedly going to walk away with 75 million dollars in addition to three of the Bryant family mansions...after the ink dries on their divorce. The whopping sum is roughly half their total assets. 

More good news for Vanessa...there's word the hugely popular reality series Basketball Wives is trying to sign her on. 

What do NBA mascots do in their spare time? They go to high schools and show off.  "Boomer", the Indiana Pacers mascot, visited a local high school to do a little dance and jam in a trick dunk.  But that high school rim was no match for his NBA dunking power...the thing shatters showering these poor cheerleaders in broken glass.
